Favouritism happens everywhere in this world, be it at workplaces, in schools, even in families. As long as there are groups of people, there will always be favourites among the bosses, teachers, even parents.
This is a fact of life and can never be addressed no matter what people say and/or do to try to ensure that impartiality stays alive.
One would notice that people who do well in life are not necessarily the most hard-working or the most sincere or the most honest, but those who know how to play the favouritism card well. Sad but true.

I would have been somebody if I know how to play that game as you have mentioned
You are already somebody. No need to play those games, just be oneself and always try our best to do the right things and all will be good.
